Topiramate Oral Suspension    6 mg/mL

    topiramate  100 mg  TAB   
    Methylcellulose (preserved with parabens)  1% (10 mg/mL)  PO SOLN   
    Simple syrup       qs to 
Recipe Total Quantity:

Directions: HAZARDOUS - Reproductive
Refer to the AHS Hazardous Medication Handling Guide for more information.

1. In a mortar, crush tablets and triturate to a fine powder.
2. Levigate the powder with methylcellulose into a uniform paste.
3. Gradually add simple syrup until a liquid is formed.
4. Pour into a graduated cylinder.
5. Rinse mortar and qs to final volume with simple syrup.
6. Transfer to final container and label.

Notes See recipe for Methylcellulose 1% solution (preserved with parabens).

May substitute Methylcellulose 1% (preserved with parabens) and Simple Syrup with any of the following vehicles:
-Ora-Blend®
-Ora-Plus® / Ora-Sweet® (1:1)

Refrigerated storage is preferred.
