Phytonadione (Vitamin K1) Oral Solution (prepared from injection)   1 mg/mL

Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: mL

Directions: 1. Using a filter needle, withdraw required amount of vitamin K1 then remove filter needle and transfer to a glass amber bottle.
2. QS to final volume with simple syrup and mix well.
3. Label.

Notes Sterile water can be used instead of Simple Syrup, but stability is 28 days at room temperature.

Preparation in sterile water is PREFERRED for neonates corrected age 28 days or less and patients on ketogenic diet.

Only use Sandoz brand (formerly SABEX brand) of Vitamin K1.

THIS FORMULATION IS NOT BASED ON LITERATURE, but is from unpublished data, historical use or pharmacy/physician experience.

STABILITY data is based on an in-house study by Sabex.
