Oseltamivir Oral Suspension in Cherry Syrup   12 mg/mL

Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: mL

Directions: 1. Empty contents of capsules into a GLASS mortar and triturate to a fine powder.
2. Gradually levigate the powder with a portion of cherry syrup.
3. Pour into a graduated cylinder.
4. Rinse mortar and qs to final volume with cherry syrup.
5. Transfer to final container and label.

Notes To be prepared ONLY in the event that the 12 mg/mL commercial product is NOT available.

A 12 mg/mL strength was chosen for this recipe to match the strength of the commercial product, TamifluŽ suspension manufactured by Roche.

Information for this recipe was extrapolated from the study by Winiarski which determined the stability of oseltamivir 15 mg/mL in Cherry Syrup by Humco (See Reference Section).

Please NOTE, this recipe requires the ready-to-use cherry syrup and NOT the concentrated flavouring. The cherry syrup used should have a pH between 3 and 5.
