Recipe - Compounding Worksheet

Hyoscine Oral Suspension    2 mg/mL
Lot No Expiry(mm/yyyy) Ingredients Master Formula
    hyoscine butylbromide  20 mg/mL  INJ   
    Simple syrup        
    Parabens   10%  PO SOLN   
    Water, sterile       qs to 
Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: mL

Directions: 1. Using a syringe and filter needle, withdraw required amount of hyoscine from ampoules.
2. Remove filter needle and transfer syringe contents into a graduated cylinder.
2. Add simple syrup and parabens.
3. QS to final volume with water.
4. Transfer to final container and label.

Notes See recipe for Parabens 10% oral solution.

Hyoscine injection is preferred but tablets may be used in recipe preparation.
