Triamcinolone ACETONIDE Mouthwash Solution   0.1%

    menthol  n/a  CRYSTAL   
    Ethanol (ethyl alcohol)  100%  SOLN   
    Propylene glycol liquid       
    glycerin  100%  PO SOLN   
    saccharin sodium    PWD   
    sodium metabisulfite    PWD   
    edetate disodium (EDTA)    PWD   
    Water, sterile        
    Sorbitol 70%      qs to 
Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: mL

Directions: 1. Dissolve triamcinolone acetonide and menthol in ethanol.
2. Add propylene glycol, glycerin and about 10% of the total quantity of sorbitol.
3. Dissolve saccharin sodium, sodium metabisulfite and edetate disodium (EDTA) in water.
4. Add the aqueous solution to the drug mixture and mix well.
5. QS to final volume with sorbitol.
6. Transfer to final container and label.

Notes Modified from original recipe which employed 95% ethanol (ethyl alcohol).
