Cholestyramine Resin with Sucralfate Ointment   14% cholestyramine resin
Lot No Expiry(mm/yyyy) Ingredients Master Formula
    Cholestyramine Regular   4 grams resin / 9 grams powder     
    sucralfate  1 g  TAB   
    Aquaphor     UNG   
Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: g

Directions: 1. In a mortar, crush sucralfate tablet(s) and add cholestyramine powder. Triturate together to form a fine powder.
2. Gradually incorporate Aquaphor ointment to make a homogenous preparation.
3. Transfer to ointment jar and label.

Notes NOTE:
Use cholestyramine regular which contains 4 grams of cholestyramine resin/ 9 gram powder packet.

Alternate Method:
1. In a mortar, crush sucralfate tablet(s) and add cholestyramine powder. Triturate together to form a fine powder.
2. Melt Aquaphor ointment using a hot plate.
3. Remove from heat and stir in powder mixture immediately. Mix well.
4. Transfer to ointment jar and label.

Since no stability data available, assign beyond use date using NAPRA Guidance Document For Pharmacy Compounding Of Non-Sterile Preparations:
Water-containing topical/dermal, mucosal liquid and semi-solid formulations The BUD is not later than 30 days.
