Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate in Cherry Syrup    1 mg/mL

Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: mL

Directions: 1. Withdraw required amount of dexamethasone and transfer to a graduated cylinder.
2. QS to final volume with cherry syrup.
3. Transfer to final container and label.

Notes Cherry Syrup selected to make recipe, however original reference used Wild Cherry Syrup (prepared by adding 0.2 mL of wild cherry flavoring to simple syrup qs to 100 mL).

Please note recipe requires the ready-to-use cherry syrup and NOT the cherry syrup concentrate. If your site uses the concentrate, it MUST be diluted before using in the recipe.

Use Dexamethasone in Normal Saline recipe for neonates corrected age 28 days or less and patients on ketogenic diet.

Can substitute dexamethasone sodium phosphate powder USP or dexamethasone tablets for injectable dexamethasone.

Arbitrary expiration date of 14 days refrigerated can be assigned based on USP 795 guidelines.
