||1. Place nitrazepam tablets into the mortar. Let soak with a bit of vehicle to soften tablets.
2. Levigate the tablets to get a smooth paste, add more vehicle if needed. Add small quantities of vehicle until a liquid is formed. Transfer the contents of the mortar to the graduated measure. Use additional vehicle to rinse remaining drug from the mortar.
3. Make up the final volume using more vehicle. Stir well.
4. Transfer the suspension to an amber bottle.

Ora Blend® and Ora-Plus® / Ora-Sweet® (1:1) cannot be substituted in this recipe as stability studies using these vehicles have not been done.
