Topotecan oral solution   1 mg/mL

    topotecan (powder for reconstitution)  4 mg  VIAL   
    Water, sterile        
Recipe Total Quantity:
Final Quantity Desired: mL

Directions: Refer to the AHS Hazardous Medication Handling Guide for more information.

1. Per topotecan package insert, reconstitute each vial with sterile water for a final concentration of 1 mg/mL.
2. After reconstitution of vial, gently mix solution.
3. Transfer solution from each vial into an amber bottle.
4. Add a bottle adapter for oral syringe use.

Notes THIS FORMULATION IS NOT BASED ON LITERATURE, but is from unpublished data, historical use, or physician/pharmacy experience.
HOWEVER, stability and sterility are data based upon published literature for reconstituted injectable product. (Patel, 1998)
